How much does a wedding website cost in the UK in 2026?

The honest range runs from nothing at all to several hundred pounds, and occasionally into the thousands. Free platforms genuinely exist and are genuinely usable; paid platforms sit mostly in the tens to low hundreds; done-for-you UK services start at around £199–£299; bespoke design studios are a different tier again.
Page count is a weak predictor of price. What actually drives cost is complexity — how clever the RSVP needs to be, whether guests are grouped and shown different things, whether the wedding is abroad or spread over several days, and how much of the work someone else does for you.
For transparency, we are one of the done-for-you services in this market — you can see our packages and prices if that's useful, but most of this page is about everything else that's available.
Free wedding websites: what £0 actually includes
Free tiers are real, but they are not identical, and a few have caps worth knowing about before you invest an evening in one.
Joy (WithJoy) is free on its core platform: website, planning dashboard, registry, mobile app, unlimited guests, online RSVP, digital invitations, multiple editors and support, with a custom domain typically $19.99/year, normally auto-renewing [1], [2]. Its zero-fee cash registry promotes Venmo, PayPal and Cash App [3], which is worth testing rather than assuming for UK guests.
The Knot gives you the website free, with a domain at $19.99 for one year or $39.98 for two years, and a .wedding domain at $99.99/year; domains do not auto-renew [4]. The builder, RSVP and guest tools and registry sit inside a wider, largely US-oriented planning ecosystem [5].
Zola is also free for the website, with templates, schedule, travel and accommodation, photos and registry pages; its current help centre says domains start at $17.99 [7] (an older Zola article quotes a lower figure and should be treated as superseded [6]). Card payments into cash funds carry 2.5% processing [8].
Bridebook is free with no public couple-paid website tier: a customisable site with your story, venue, schedule and travel details, gift list, hotel links and RSVP creation and tracking, alongside its free planning tools [9]. It is UK-focused, though it sits inside Bridebook's supplier marketplace.
Hitched.co.uk is free, including a personalised Hitched-domain address, with templates, pages, blog and photos, gift-list link, real-time RSVP and guest list, menu choices, accommodation, updates and password/welcome-form protection [10]. Also UK-focused, and part of The Knot Worldwide's marketplace.
GettingMarried is free up to 75 guests, which is the clearest example of a free tier with a hard limit; the free plan covers the site, themes, guest list and simple RSVP [11].
The honest caveat
Joy, The Knot and Zola are US-built products. Registry conventions, payment methods and terminology are written for US couples and guests first [1], [5], [8]. That doesn't make them bad choices — it makes them worth a five-minute test with a UK card and a UK-based guest before you commit.
Paid wedding website platforms compared
Paid platforms split fairly cleanly into one-off payments and subscriptions. The distinction matters more than the headline number, especially over a long engagement.
| Platform | Price | Billing | What the paid tier adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| GettingMarried [11] | Essentials £45 (to 120 guests); Plus £89 (unlimited guests) | One-off; no recurring charge stated | £45 adds cash gift list, premium/custom designs, personalised address, QR code and guest email. £89 adds automated RSVP, unlimited email stationery, tailored questions, menu manager and table planner. Note the page is titled “Pricing 2024”, so treat it as possibly stale. |
| Appy Couple [12] | $99/year or $12/month; custom domains usually $19.99/year | Subscription, cancellable | Website plus native app, digital invitations, hundreds of designs, RSVP and guest management, messages, photos and unlimited storage. Printed stationery is separate. Its page also calls this a “small one-time fee”, so treat billing as recurring unless checkout says otherwise. |
| WedSites [13], [14] | Basic $39; Standard $99; Pro $199 | One-time payment per tier (free to design, paid to publish) | Basic: builder, themes, password, analytics, own-domain connection, 6 months hosting. Standard: guest database, unlimited guests, RSVP questions, multi-event RSVP and digital stationery, 12 months hosting. Pro: checklist, seating, budget, timeline, payment reminders, multilingual site, 24 months hosting. |
| Riley & Grey [15] | $39/month or $299/year; $39 to reserve domain/design, credited to membership | Subscription | Unlimited free design trial; membership includes custom domain, publishing, unlimited edits, digital invitations, registry, support and guest management. Paper printing is extra and cash-fund payments carry 2.95%. |
| Bliss & Bone [16] | Standard $15/month; Premium $21/month, after a 7-day free trial | Subscription, cancel anytime | Standard: website, customisable RSVP, privacy and multilingual support. Premium adds unlimited email, guest verification, private-event permissions and expanded RSVP controls. Stationery, logos and other products are sold separately. |
| Tie The Knot [17] | £249 once, lifetime access, 30-day money-back guarantee | One-off | Five templates, website, shared planning board, budget and table planners, meal/dietary/plus-one RSVP, gift and cash funds, QR photo gallery, multi-day schedule and travel information, with no supplier ads. This is a UK product, though the comparison article it publishes is self-promotional. |
Beyond the wedding-native tools, Canva offers a lightweight free builder, Minted links free websites to its stationery business, Wix has a branded free tier, and Squarespace offers a 14-day trial before a paid plan, including a domain for the first year on annual subscriptions. These are design-led general website tools rather than UK wedding guest-management products.
How much does a done-for-you wedding website cost?
A done-for-you service is priced on the work, not the software: someone designs the site, builds the RSVP and handles the changes. Most UK providers publish “from” prices, with the final cost depending on scope.
| Provider | Starting price | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| Chapter & Vow [18] | Starter from £49; Essential from £149; Signature from £249; custom on quote | £49 one-page essentials; £149 multi-section with basic RSVP; £249 bespoke layouts, custom-domain and hosting setup, RSVP tracking and QR code. Ongoing updates and a destination “Travel Assistant” are add-ons. These are explicitly guide prices, labelled “founding client pricing”, so treat them as introductory. |
| AskMind QuickSites [19] | From £199 (add-ons £50–£400) | Hosted hand-coded site, custom domain, schedule, directions, FAQ, database-backed RSVP with meals, private admin and source-code handover. Published add-ons include advanced dietary logic £100–£150, guest uploads £250–£400 and a QR system £150. |
| Intelligent Web Design | From £199 | Dedicated designer, customisable design, RSVP with menu and dietary questions, maps, accommodation, registry links, countdown and optional private stag/hen information. Its own pricing page states no ongoing monthly payment, but only the entry price is transparent — full package totals weren't available. |
| Eternal Union [20] | From £300 (RSVP configuration and extras quoted) | Bespoke typography and layout, schedule, travel, FAQ and contact pages, mobile build, RSVP with meals and dietary notes, email notifications and a private dashboard. Gallery, custom domain, extra sections and copy help are add-ons, so the total depends on guest flow. |
| Wedding Websites NI [21] | £249 for one calendar year; £284 with matching save-the-date email | Custom site, choice of supplied domain, personalised RSVP questions, email alerts and spreadsheet export; you supply the copy. An externally bought domain is connected at no setup charge. After year one, hosting is £5/month. |
| RSVPmadeSimple [22] | From £299, including 12 months hosting | Done-for-you design and build, QR code, advanced RSVP and dashboard, personalised subdomain; premium packages include a purchased custom domain, and unlimited revisions before approval are advertised. Prices above the starting figure weren't published. |
| Tie The Knot [17] | £249 once | Listed here for comparison, though it is a self-serve UK platform rather than a done-for-you service: templates, planning tools and a full RSVP with meals, dietary needs and plus-ones, with lifetime access. |
Bespoke and luxury wedding website prices
Bespoke studios are a genuinely different tier: original design and branding rather than a template, plus the features destination weddings actually need. Two publish their prices, both in euros — quoted here as published, without conversion.
Avelã White offers semi-custom Light from €950 for up to four pages, and Core from €1,500 for up to nine pages with a monogram, two revision rounds and one month's support; fully bespoke work is priced on proposal [24]. Bespoke projects can include original branding and illustration, custom RSVP, multilingual content, animation and destination functionality. Its own 2026 guide notes the wider market can exceed €10,000, though that is a market observation from a commercially motivated source rather than an Avelã White price [23].
Aeternus publishes Essential at €290 (one page, RSVP, domain setup), Premium at €690 (multi-page design, timeline, gallery, meal choices and maps) and Luxury from €1,200 (branding, protected access, multilingual pages, pre- and post-wedding galleries, guestbook, music, travel guide and unlimited revisions) [25].
What does a UK freelance web designer charge?
A wedding site is closest to a small brochure build — until you add a custom RSVP, at which point it becomes a small web application. The published UK benchmarks are:
| Benchmark | Published range |
|---|---|
| Junior to mid hourly | £25–£50/hour [29] |
| Experienced hourly | £40–£80/hour [29] |
| Senior or specialist hourly | £70–£120/hour [29] |
| Typical day rate | £300–£400/day, with a broader range of £200–£550 [29] |
| Basic 3–5 page brochure site | £500–£1,500 [29] |
| Standard 5–10 page custom site | £1,500–£3,000 [29] |
| Contractor day rates by discipline | Designers £385/day; UX £452/day; software engineering £533/day [28] |
Two honest caveats. ExpertSure's figures were verified in August 2026 but it is a commercial quote-comparison site [29]. YunoJuno's 2026 report is stronger observational evidence — more than 182,000 profile, booking and rate data points from 2024–2025 — but it describes professional contractor engagements, not fixed quotes for wedding sites [28].
Most importantly: this is a general web design market benchmark, not a wedding-specific average. No wedding-specific freelance average was available. RSVP logic, guest databases and ongoing support push a freelance quote towards the higher end of these ranges or beyond them.
Which features increase the price?
RSVP complexity
Meal selection, matching individual guests, plus-ones, several events, private events, dietary exports and dashboards all need real logic rather than a contact form. Eternal Union varies its quote by guest flow [20], and AskMind prices advanced dietary logic at £100–£150 and a QR guest-lookup system at £150 [19].
Destination and multilingual weddings
Travel and accommodation guides, multiple venues, maps, local transport, private itineraries and second languages appear in the higher tiers at Aeternus, Avelã White and WedSites [25], [23], [13].
Depth of custom design
Adapting an existing collection is cheaper than creating original branding, illustration, animation, typography and page structure from scratch [23].
Support and changes after launch
Extra revision rounds, copy help, urgent updates, post-launch care and keeping the site live beyond the included period are where recurring or add-on charges appear [18], [14], [21].
Hidden costs: domains, hosting, renewals and transaction fees
Domain renewals. Cheap first-year domains often renew materially higher. A June 2026 UK registrar comparison listed .co.uk renewals from £9.50 to £15.59 and .com renewals from £14.39 to £22.79 across selected registrars — though the publisher sells hosting, so it's a commercially interested table [30].
Hosting expiry. WedSites sites go offline after their included 6, 12 or 24 months unless hosting is extended [13], [14], and Wedding Websites NI includes one year then charges £5/month [21].
Subscriptions that keep running. Appy Couple, Riley & Grey and Bliss & Bone bill until you cancel [12], [15], [16]. Over a two-year engagement, a monthly plan can cost considerably more than the headline figure suggests.
Stationery and transaction fees. Printed stationery is sold separately at Appy Couple, Riley & Grey and Bliss & Bone [12], [15], [16]. Cash-fund payments carry 2.95% at Riley & Grey [15] and 2.5% for card-funded cash gifts at Zola [8].
Wedding website cost versus the average UK wedding budget
Bridebook's 2026 report puts average UK wedding-day spend at £20,604, drawn from around 7,000 married and planning couples and excluding the honeymoon and engagement ring [26]. Hitched reports £21,990, based on more than 2,000 couples married in 2025, with the same exclusions [27].
These are different samples over different reference periods, so they shouldn't be averaged together or treated as a like-for-like measurement.
There is no reliable UK-specific average for wedding website spend on its own — no survey we could find separates it from stationery or digital planning tools. Bridebook's £378 average stationery spend [26] is useful context for the scale of the “telling your guests things” budget line, but it is not a website figure and shouldn't be read as one.
UK platforms versus US platforms: what couples should check
Joy, The Knot, Zola, Appy Couple, Riley & Grey and Bliss & Bone are US-built [1], [5], [6], [12], [15], [16]. Several are excellent products, and plenty of UK couples use them happily. But registry conventions, payment methods and terminology are designed for a US audience first, and we found no authoritative evidence that every registry and payment feature behaves identically for UK bank accounts and UK guests.
Bridebook, Hitched, GettingMarried and the UK bespoke and done-for-you providers are UK-native [9], [10], [11]. If you're weighing up a US platform, the practical check is short: add a cash gift with a UK card, look at how the amounts and wording read to a UK guest, and confirm the money can reach a UK account.
Questions to ask before paying for a wedding website
- Is hosting included, and for how long after the wedding?
- Does the price include a custom domain, or is that extra — and what does it renew at?
- Is the billing a one-off payment or a recurring subscription?
- What happens to the site after the wedding: does it stay up, or come down?
- Does the price scale with guest count or RSVP complexity?
- Who writes the content, and are changes after launch included?
Those six questions explain almost every price difference on this page.

Still working out what's right for your wedding?
There isn't one correct answer here. If your wedding is one day at one venue and you enjoy fiddling with templates, a free platform is often genuinely enough. If your constraint is time and attention rather than money, or your RSVP is more complicated than it first looked, a done-for-you service earns its fee.
If you'd like an honest view of which route fits your wedding — including when the answer is “use a free platform” — tell us a little about the day and we'll reply properly.
